Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily melting operations, including charge preparation, furnace operation, pouring, and metal handling.
Ensure correct melting practices, temperature control, and chemical composition as per specifications.
Plan and execute daily melt schedules based on production requirements.
Monitor raw material usage, scrap ratios, and alloy additions to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
Ensure proper furnace maintenance, refractory lining checks, and timely repair coordination.
Supervise melting crew and allocate tasks to operators and helpers.
Maintain records of charge materials, temperatures, and melt reports.
Work closely with the quality control team to ensure metallurgical standards are met.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure use of proper PPE during furnace operations.
Implement continuous improvement practices to reduce melt losses and increase furnace efficiency.
Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness in the melting area.
